A liver flush is a natural detox that helps remove congestion, sludge, stones, and toxins from the liver and gallbladder. By following a structured protocol, you can stimulate bile flow, improve digestion, ‘clean out’ your detox pathways and support overall health and vitality. Many report increased energy, mental clarity, clear eyes and skin, and relief from chronic symptoms after consistent flushing.

Liver Flushing ~ a natural detox

The stages of liver flushing, explained:

Stage 1. Nourishment (pre-flush preparation)

A well-nourished body responds better to flushing. Consuming nutrient dense meals with quality proteins, healthy fats, the right kinds of carbohydrates and minimal to no processed foods or industrial oils for at least two weeks before starting is beneficial. Sometime flushers experience die-off/herxheimer/detox symptoms, which can be reduced with a sensible and nourishing pre-flush approach to health.

Stage 2. Preparation (6 Days)

When you commence your liver flush protocol with us, you will spend the first six days preparing your body for the actual ‘‘flush’ which lasts 1-2 at the end of the program. Days 1 - 6 involves sipping on an L-malic acid-containing drink (you receive tailored advice as to which source of malic acid will be best for you during your initial consult). This softens liver and gallbladder congestion and stones, making it easier to release during the flush. Days 1-6 also involve a gentle detox style diet and no late-night eating. You will be guided by Sarah as to what this will look like, and for some clients this can be tailored further for additional gut soothing or parasite cleansing. Life can remain as normal on days 1-5, gym, fitness and work commitments will not be affected.

Stage 3. The Flush Begins! (Day 6)

The morning of days 6 is very gentle eating, with specific instructions about macronutrients, so as to preserve bile stores for the pending flush.

2 pm onwards: Stop eating and hydrate with the salty water we suggest.

6 pm & 8 pm: You will drink epsom salt water to relax bile ducts and clear the bowels.

9 pm: (optional but recommended) Take a binder, to help bind released toxins.

10 pm: You will drink a mixture of oil and citrus juice to trigger bile release and flush out congestion.

Rest: Lie down with a hot water bottle or castor oil pack on your liver and relax.

Stage 4. Flush & Recover

On the morning of day 7, expect multiple bowel movements as your body expels toxins, sludge, stones and bile. You may drink water with sea salt, take a binder, and eat a nourishing meal. Rest and allow your body to flush and adjust.

Liver flushing is an ancient way of addressing poor bile flow, liver congestion, and gallstones. It uses olive oil, epsom salt, malic acid and a detox diet.

What to expect

Liver flushing may cause temporary nausea, fatigue, or emotional releases as toxins are eliminated. Some experience deep relief and improved well-being, while others need multiple flushes to achieve results.

How often should you flush?

Ideally, flushing will become part of your lifestyle, whether it be something you repeat monthly or bi-annually. We suggest to continue flushing once a month until you feel great relief in symptoms, and a general feeling of excellent health and vitality. If you have persistent symptoms, you likely still have liver congestion. Regular flushing, combined with proper nourishment, can lead to profound health improvements.

Liver flushing is a powerful way to support detoxification and optimize health. Often, your first flush will be significant and powerful. In some cases, the first flush will begin the process of clearing detox pathways but further flushes might be required to get stubborn congestion loosened up and flushed out. Listen to your body, follow the steps, and embrace the process.
