A healthy gut helps break down and absorb the vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and fats needed to support mitochondrial function and cellular voltage, while also helping regulate inflammation. When the gut is inflamed or compromised, nutrient absorption may suffer and inflammatory processes can increase, placing greater demands on the body's energy reserves.
