Parasites: are they the root cause? Plus, things they love & hate.
When your terrain provides the conditions for parasites to thrive, they are damned hard to address. They ‘eat up’ nutrients we need and release toxic waste products, causing fatigue and toxicity throughout your whole body, producing symptoms that most people might not even attribute to parasites. You can be left feeling tired, moody and sick.
But here’s the thing. Parasite killing or detoxing are not always the complete solutions. Many conventional treatments, such as combantrim, work well to kill parasites in the gut, however they don’t go near the parasites in your other body tissues, nor do they address the root causes of why the parasites were so attracted to your body in the first pace. Strong herbs can be helpful, but they can also just be a temporary fix if the root causes for parasites being there are not addressed. Additionally, herbal detoxes can make you even sicker if your drainage pathways are not in good shape. We all have parasites to some extent, and they are not all bad, in all situations. Evidence shows that certain parasites help ‘consume’ or mop up toxins in our bodies such as mold and heavy metals. From this perspective, if there seems to be an overburden of parasites, the best way to address them is getting to the root cause and addressing what makes your body so appealing to them. Consider heavy metals, mold/mycotoxins, and all the factors that contribute to whether or not your gut health is robust, or inflammatory and congested.
So what makes parasites so comfortable in our bodies then? What are the conditions that make parasites want to stay?
Here are some reasons:
They love a stagnant liver.
They love when you forget to support your drainage pathways.
They love sludgy bile.
They love chronic constipation.
They love it when you are stressed and your nervous system is spent.
They loooove sugar and carbs.
They love late night snacking.
They love it when you are deficient in zinc and magnesium.
They love when you live in a moldy home.
They love the aftermath of antibiotics.
They love when you don’t chew your food properly.
They love when you skip meals and then binge.
They love ‘just the one glass of wine’.
Ok then, so what do they hate? What can we eat (and do) to make our terrains less appealing for them? How can we encourage them to leave?
Foods that parasites hate:
Cayenne pepper
Garlic
Pumpkin seeds
Thyme
Papaya seeds – (best eaten raw)
Raw honey – naturally antimicrobial (but be conscious of excess sugar consumption)
Coconut oil
Apple cider vinegar
Neem
Lemon
Barberry (berberine)
Turmeric
Oregano oil
Pineapple
Ginger
Raw carrots
The 3 key herbs that target parasites:
The 3 main herbs that are commonly used to address parasites are clove, wormwood and black walnut hull, and when used together the impact is significant on attacking parasites via multiple biochemical pathways. These herbs also have effects on gut health and motility, further enhancing the benefits on general wellbeing. When used in conjunction with detox and nourishing nutrition, the impact of these herbal cleanses can be broadened, leading to a more long-term solution, than when they are used alone.
In a nutshell, parasites are not the root problem. It takes actual effort to detoxify your body and change the conditions of your terrain that permit parasites to thrive and ‘over-populate’. More effort than herbs, a multivitamin or probiotics. It takes a whole body approach, including supporting drainage pathways, liver flushing, detoxing metals, addressing mold and mycotoxins, gut support, mineral replenishing and consistent nourishing nutrition.
