About Sarah
Sarah is an Australian BHSc-qualified Nutritionist from Victoria’s Surf Coast, now based in Bali. Since 2016, she has been practicing nutritional medicine across both Australia and Bali, building a diverse and global client base.
Passionate about food as medicine and holistic, natural living, Sarah integrates these principles into her daily life. Her areas of expertise include gut healing, the gut-brain axis, women’s health, autoimmunity and detoxification. As both a practitioner and a mother, she is deeply committed to raising a healthy, empowered daughter while living with vitality and energy. Through her work, Sarah supports individuals and families to achieve the same—restoring balance, resilience, and lasting wellness.
Nutrition consults with Sarah.
Sarah approaches health and disease management by developing individualised nutritional treatment plans which integrate current scientific evidence with traditional food wisdom. Through comprehensive one-on-one nutritional counselling sessions, Sarah works with her clients to develop a thorough understanding of the origin of their health presentations, and builds personalised treatment plans designed to help them achieve and maintain health goals long term, within the perimeters of each clients individual circumstances.
Her primary objective is to target root causes of health conditions naturally, without doing any harm. Sarah’s approach is holistic, aims to educate and empower the client, favours food-as-medicine strategies (although when necessary supplements are suggested too), and she places great importance on considering the individual lifestyle and needs of each person she treats.
Sarah appreciates the inseparable nature of health and happiness, as well as the physiological gut-brain-axis (aka the mind-gut connection). The gut-brain-axis essentially refers to the biochemical signalling between the digestive system and the central nervous system, linking emotional and cognitive centres with digestion and nutritional status. Hippocrates was right when he said ‘all disease begins in the gut’ and as such, Sarah incorporates gut-nourishing suggestions in her protocols with all patients. Love your guts to love your life.
Sarah’s goal is for you to thrive, on (and beyond) a healing diet.
Like many who have undergone radical health changes, Sarah’s passion for natural health grew from personal experience and healing. As a child Sarah was a ‘tonsilitis kid’ who took multiple rounds of antibiotics, which damaged her developing microbiome and reduced immune strength, resulting in the constant over-use of antibiotics right into young adulthood. The gut damage incurred by this, plus uneducated dietary choices and other environmental factors, was instrumental in the development of Sarah’s IBS, parasitic infections, chronic anaemia, and energy/inflammation struggles as an adult. Sarah experienced life changing healing entirely through learning about real food, which prompted a total career change and return to university at age 30 (to become a Nutritionist). Now age 43 and a busy solo mum, Sarah’s passion for healing your gut in order to heal any chronic health condition begins in the kitchen, when it began for her. Sarah’s practice incorporates GAPS diet principles and restoring nutrient dense food practices such as those found in the wise Weston A. Price foundation. The goal is for you to thrive on a healing diet, which you will, when you are educated and empowered properly and you engage in learning about traditional food-as-medicine as you go. Some of the best and most effective healing dishes are also surprisingly simple. From the basics of what to eliminate to kill off pathogens, what to include to restore intestinal wall integrity, and what to cultivate your microbiome with, Sarah will guide you all the way. Before you know it your kitchen will be your farm-acy and your whole family will reap the rewards
